Set of 2 'Amsterdamse School' armchairs, the Netherlands, circa 1920
Excellent pair of armchairs in oak, upholstered in red fabric. These chairs have a clear design of straight lines, combined with subtle curves in the legs and the back rests. An open and more light appearance is created by the openings in the legs, back and armrests. The backrests are finished with a small ebonized inlay in the middle and small horns and the both ends. The armrests and horizontal and rounded and the end. The legs are tall, slim and slightly tapered, while the feet are flared for more stability.
The seats are upholstered in a red/pink fabric that matches this model in a wonderful way. The fabric shows some signs of age and use.
In case you are interested to reupholstered the set, this is possible in our in-house atelier in any kind of leather or fabric of your choice.
