This striking staircase with a rubber step surface is called the 'Helicloid' staircase and is part of the "M 400" series by Roger Tallon. The piece is executed in cast and polished aluminum and features black non-slip rubber on the surface. This particular model comes with twelve steps plus a bigger floor step. The collection of the MOMA also features this staircase design.
Roger Tallon (1929-2011) was a French Industrial designer. Tallon was trained as an engineer. He designed hundreds of products, including Industrial Robots for Peugeot, refrigerators, tableware, lamps and furniture.
