Robert Heritage for Archie Shine Set of Six Dining Chairs in Red Corduroy

Robert Heritage for Archie Shine, set of six dining chairs, mahogany, red corduroy, United Kingdom, 1960s

The set of six chairs is sensuous, sculptural and elegant. The design features a high, sculpted back. The curved, tapered legs give the unit a sturdy and sophisticated look. The main feature of the chair is the way how the seat is separated from the frame itself, a design invention that was first introduced by Finn Juhl. The chair is upholstered in a soft material called corduroy that is known for its ribbing and velvety structure. The designer, Robert Heritage, is known for carrying out furniture design for Queen Elizabeth II ocean liner in 1968.

Please note that these chairs are in good, used condition. The mahogany type of this piece does not require an export license.
