Robert Haussmann for De Sede Set of Eight Leather Chairs
Robert Haussmann and De Sede, set of eight 'RH-304', brown leather and steel, Switzerland, ca. 1950.
This cantilever set of tufted chairs with leather padded armchairs is designed by Haussmann for De Sede. The set has a business aesthetic combined with a comfortable seat and back. This set distinguishes itself by means of a high, tall back. The tufted leather chairs have an graphic, abstract feel thanks to the repetitive pattern that form the aesthetic core of this set of chairs. Please note that this set shows signs of age and use and that some needs restoration or a complete reupholstery of this set.
De Sede once started as a saddler's workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Slowly, the company widened their Scope and committed themselves to transforming the best possible leather into seating furniture. In 1965 the family-run business grew into a professional company and their name was De Sede AG. De Sede products are detail-obsessed with the main focus on the people who own them. Therefore, all the De Sede items are made out of the best materials which results in durability and comfort.
