Renato Forti for Frangi Free Standing Desk in Walnut

Renato Forti for Frangi, free standing writing desk, walnut, Italy, 1960s

Sturdy yet elegant desk designed by Renato Forti (1923-2015) for Frangi. Forti designed multiple furniture items, and is mostly known for his designs for the Italian lighting company O-Luce. His other furniture pieces are quite rare, which makes this desk even more special. Executed in walnut, this freestanding desk features a strong trestle base. The mortise and tenon joints that are visible proves Forti's great craftsmanship and eye for a well-balanced designed piece of furniture. One drawer is installed underneath the table top to store personal belongings.
