Rare Pair of Brazilian Lounge Chairs in Leather and Wood
Lounge chairs, walnut, beige leather, Brazil, 1950s.
These rare lounge chairs feature a strong, walnut wooden frame. This dark wooden frame is sculptural with round poles for legs, of which the front ones are smaller than the back legs. The connective horizontal rod between the legs, as well as the horizontal rod that defines the set, are dented by means of a semi circle. The seat is made up of a leather, hanging piece that flows within the frame. The leather shows a beautiful patina that is the result of natural wear due to age and use.
Design shows similarities with furniture from Liceu de Artes e Oficios.
