Rare Jens Harald Quistgaard for Nissen Langå Set of Four Dining Chairs in Oak
Jens Harald Quistgaard for Nissen Langå, set of four dining chairs model 530, oak, suede, Denmark, design 1964-65
Danish sculptor and designer Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919-2008) is particularly known for designing kitchenware and tableware. Although consisting of a smaller amount, his oeuvre incorporates home furnishings of excellent quality. These chairs are a great example of Quistgaard's brilliance and great craftsmanship. The chairs have an overall naturalistic appeal which is established by mimicking naturally occurring shapes reminiscent of nature. The wooden frame is organically shaped and together with the absence of strict angles, the chair attains a sculptural expression. The wood joints in the backrest specialize the design and highlight Quistgaard's great eye for detail. The seats are marked with 'RN'.
Please note that the fabric shows signs of wear and use, such as discoloration and stains.
