Rare Erik Ole Jørgensen for Chris Sørensen Lounge Chair in Beige Wool
Erik Ole Jørgensen for Chris Sørensen, easy chair, wool, teak, oak, Denmark, design 1954
This extremely rare armchair is designed by Erik Ole Jørgensen and crafted by Chris Sørensen. What defines this piece is the way the corpus is expertly structured. The upper part of the arched-shaped backrest transitions into the armrests, slightly separating from the framework. When experiencing from behind, the back gracefully runs into a single unbroken form. The skilfully carved armrests in teak embody a captivating curvature which join the frame in a seamless way. Oak has been used for the rounded tapered feet that bring some openness and strength to the design. This design is made with great attention for detail and excellent woodworking. Characterized by simplicity, functionality, impeccable craftsmanship, and usage of luxurious materials, this piece of furniture is exemplary of Scandinavian Modern Design.
