Poul Nørreklit for Georg Petersens Møbelfabrik, drybar, laminate, aluminum, acrylic, Denmark, circa 1969
Nørreklit is known for his implementation of transparent, unconventional materials and a clear visual language as reflected in this dry bar. This free-standing bar focused on functionality combined with a beautiful design useful for daily use. The design of the front is executed in white laminate and is hold together by two slender legs executed in plexiglass and finished with aluminum feet. This item shows well-chosen proportions, with an open space created through the spacing of the bar unit and the top equipped with drawers. The whole lay out is characterized by a playful composition of strict lines and round rings that serve as bottle holders. Plenty of storage space and the perfect length provide the user to prepare the drinks with comfort and joy. The cabinet feels retro, without clashing with contemporary interiors
