Easy chair model AP14, in canvas and steel, by Pierre Paulin for AP Originals, the Netherlands, 1954.

Very rare easy chair in original red canvas upholstery. This chair was designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for the A. Polak, a Dutch furniture manufacturer. The frame consist of two pieces of tubular steel, hold together by steel clips. The canvas seating is attached to the frame, only on the armrests. This chair was the precursor of Paulins famous Butterfly chair.

Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French furniture designer, influenced by the Scandinavian aesthetic, as well as American prefabrication design. The designs of Paulin have a high comfort and remain timeless, even today.
