Pierre Paulin for Artifort ´ABCD´ Two Seat Sofa in Purple Upholstery

Pierre Paulin for Artifort, two-seat sofa from the ABCD series, fabric Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 - Color 0563, wood, metal, The Netherlands, design 1968.

Beautifully curved and iconic two seat sofa by Pierre Paulin in a warm aubergine colored upholstery. This series was originally made for company and hotel lobbies. It was made to tackle the problem that couches are often inconvenient as people do not dare to sit next without having been invited to do so. With the ABCD design people can sit down without disturbing the other person sitting next to them, since each sitter has its own space.
