Pierre Dariel, pair of Hendaye armchairs, oak, beech, cane, France, 1930s.

Pair of Hendaye model armchairs designed by Pierre Dariel in the 1930s. The structure is composed entirely out of oak and beech, while the seat and backrest are made of cane. Unique to these chairs is the system created to fold in the seat and backrest up- or downwards. Due to the very structured frame and armrests, the chairs have a lot of character.
