Pair of Tubular Lounge Chairs in Black Leather 1960s
Pair of armchairs, metal and leather, the Netherlands, 1960s.
These tubular chairs are a great example of the radical Bauhaus aesthetic. Functional and light thanks to the combination of strong, lasting materials; bended tubular steel with dark brown to black saddle leather. Beautiful curved and straight lines combine into a modern and clean design. A true modernist item as made famous by Bauhaus and contemporary designers like Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
The saddle leather upholstery is in good condition with an all over patina. It has some small marks, mainly on the corners.
