Milo Baughman, set of two swivel chairs, red fabric and wood, United States, 1960s
These lounge chairs embrace the shape of the body and are very comfortable. The combination of the high, drop-like pointy back and the straight front gives these chairs both a simplistic modern touch combined with funky elements. The chairs both have a memory swivel, meaning that the chairs automatically return into a centered position.
Milo Baughman (1923-2003) is one of the American midcentury designers who is known for home designs and his collaboration with Thayer Coggin Inc., of High Point, NC, which began in 1953 and lasted until his death in 2003.
