Pair of Italian Lounge Chairs in Ocher Yellow Velvet
Pair of lounge chairs, velvet, stained beech, Italy, 1970s
The construction and usefulness of this pair of eloquent lounge chairs is well thought out by the designer, resulting in this sophisticated shape. For instance, the armrests have been cut lose from the seat, providing the sitter with the ability to move freely. Another interesting detail are the wooden 'claws' at the end of the armrests, to hide the joinery in the fabric and prevent the sitter from soiling the fabric with its hands. Furthermore, the chair invites you to spend more time on it due to its imposing, high backrest which is slightly titled. Overall, the beautiful sharp shapes and lines and the striking ocher color brings the room a visual excitement.
