Danish Cabinetmaker Pair of Chiffonier Cabinets in Solid Oak
Pair of cabinets, oak, brass, felt, Denmark, 1940s.
This refined pair of chiffonier cabinets are certainly made by a cabinetmaker who understood how to design a high quality piece of furniture. Excellent craftsmanship is combined with a well-balanced eye for the composition of functional and decorative elements. Executed in solid oak, these cabinets with a lockable curved front door, offer a variety of storage space. One cabinet is equipped with four drawers on the inside and lower shelves underneath. The other cabinet contains multiple shelves with different spaces in between. Above the front door panel, both cabinets are provided with an upper drawer that is upholstered on the inside with dark green felt. In all likelihood, these items were used in a store or office environment, and will be of great service in a contemporary / mid-century work space.
