Pair of Art Deco French Dining Chairs
Pair of French/ Belgium easy chairs in wood and patinated green leather, France, 1920s.
This unique design features cow horn-shaped armrests, thick cushions and carved, closed sides. The two legs in the front of the chair are slightly turned to the side creating a dynamic frame, while the back legs which are part of the backrest, are kept straight. The voluptuous upholstery creates a very comfortable seating area. The chairs seem robust and potent yet are in fact relatively small compared to their strong appearance.
Please note that these chairs have their original dark green upholstery which shows severe signs of age such as cracks and heavy brown patina. The inner work needs replacing.
