Pair of 1930s Art Deco Lounge Chairs in Mahogany

Sale price$8,450.00

Pair of armchairs, fabric, mahogany, the Netherlands, 1930s

These Dutch Art Deco lounge chairs from the 1930s are distinguished by their compact and low-slung body, with a deep seat and thick upholstery that emphasizes comfort. What gives the chairs their character, though, is the mahogany frame, especially the arms. They sweep outward in a single, continuous gesture before curving down in a vertical drop that slices cleanly through the volume of the chair, creating an open look while still prioritizing geometric precision. The seat and back are upholstered in a grid-patterned fabric in a neutral tone. Subtly yet decisively, the back legs complete the design as they taper outward in a diagonal gesture.

Kindly note that the fabric is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
