Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno, wall unit, metal, walnut, Italy, 1950s

Modular shelving system designed by Osvaldo Borsani. The system was developed by Borsani as coordinated system for furnishing either the home or the office. The E22 is composed of different elements. The order and the layout of this unit is adjustable, following Borsani's philosophy that the home needs to be orderly, comfortable and easily re-arrangeable. The shelves and compartments are mounted on steel profiles and can be adjusted to your own taste. Two cabinets with doors, one set of drawers and a showcase cabinet can be placed with multiple shelves.

Please note that the wall unit shows signs of age and use.

Tecno was founded in 1953 by Osvaldo and Fulgenzio Borsani. The core thought on which the company was founded was the idea that dwellings function as the fundament on which the quality of life is built. Although Tecno was led by functionalism, aesthetics has never been unimportant. Technique was the tool that led to typological innovation. The office world experienced an extreme growth in postwar Italy and it was mainly to this world that Tecno dedicated their innovative design and craftsmanship.
