Ole Wanscher for Poul Jeppesen Armchairs in Teak and Black Leather
Ole Wanscher for P. Jeppesens Møbelfabrik, armchairs, model 'PJ412', teak, leather, Denmark, 1960s
Modest pair of dining chairs designed by Ole Wanscher in the 1960s. These chairs are very comfortable thanks to the remarkable wide seats and the slightly tilted backrests. This pair is made with a teak frame, which is crafted in a very sculptural way; slim legs and rounded, wider armrests form a beautiful combination.
Ole Wanscher (1903-1985) studied under Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked at Klint’s design studio before becoming an independent furniture designer. While traveling through Egypt and Europe, Wanscher found inspiration that he incorporated into his own unique design aesthetic.
Kindly take note that the leather is in patinated condition. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
