Olav Anker Hessen '166' Settee with Striped Upholstery
Olav Anker Hessen, settee '166', fabric, ashwood and mahogany, Norway, 1950s
A Scandinavian Modern settee by Olav Anker Hessen that is executed in an admirable manner. The frame is executed in ashwood, while the armrests are finished with lacquered mahogany veneer. The sweeping armrests point slightly upwards. The backrest and seat are uphlstered in a blue with red striped fabric, which is in good condition. Another remarkable detail of this small sofa-bench are the tapered, conical legs that have a darkened finish.
