Danish designer Nanna Ditzel created the desk 'ND 93' in 1955 for Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik. Two version were manufactured which differentiate with their amount of drawers. This version is the model with four drawers. Four tapered legs lift the table top with integrated drawers up. Decorative and functional detail at the same time are the handles. Two rectangular handles above each other are joined by a brass lock on the left side. With using teak Ditzel assured a warm colored design with natural grain as a visual effect. Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a cabinetmaker and became a furniture designer in 1946 together with her husband Jørgen Ditzel (1921-1961). Nanna Ditzel was a designer who was focused on the use, need and function of furniture. Her style is therefore very approachable and useful but at times also bold and experimental. Ditzel made use of innovative techniques and materials.
