Nanna Ditzel for Søren Willadsen Desk in Rosewood
Nanna Ditzel for Søren Willadsen, desk, rosewood, Denmark, design 1958, production, 1960s. Elegant designed desk with four drawers designed by one of the most well-known Danish designers, Nanna Ditzel. It vibrates strength and beauty due to simple but well-designed forms. This model has been produced by Søren Willadsen in the late 1950s. The rosewood grain is very beautifully preserved and made out of an outstanding quality wood. Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a cabinetmaker who together with her husband Jørgen Ditzel (1921-1961) became a furniture designer in 1946. Nanna Ditzel was focussed in her design practice on the use, need and function of furniture. Her style is therefore very approachable and technically correct, but at times also bold and experimental. Ditzel made use of innovative techniques and materials.
