Milo Baughman Grey Velvet and Rosewood Sofa
Milo Baughman, sofa, grey velvet, rosewood, United States, circa 1965
This three-seat 'basket' sofas is designed in circa 1965. The soft colored cushions fall perfectly in the rosewood frame of this settee. The design of this sofa is very geometric as the sides of the sofa are exactly as high as the back. The frame therefore functions as a basket that holds the thick, comfortable cushions together. The pattern and flames in the sofa provide for an extravagant, luxurious look that matches the simplistic, modest design exquisitely.
This piece has a resemble to the style of Harvey Probber.
