This distinct design of Mats Theselius features a body of aluminum on four metal feet. The round form is finished on top with a piece of dark wood that follows the curve of the backrest. The seat and backrest are upholstered in dark brown leather that harmonies wonderfully with the patinated metal. With the rich patina this particular chair gets a unique expression.
On the bottom is an etched metal plate saying “Järn/MOCCA Fåtöljen Mats Theselius No 170/360 Källemo AB Värnamo Sweden".
The design originated in 1985 with the ‘Älgskinns’ lounge chair which Theselius developed into three versions of 1990 which differ in materials and form. Theselius justifies the use of aluminum with his own interest and love for the material.
Mats Theselius (1956) is known for his a-typical designs, most of them produced in limited editions. All for Källemo Sweden. This functional and aesthetic piece is another great example of his style and inventiveness with bold shapes and materials.
