These modern, Minimalist easy chairs are made of a tubular brushed steel in combination with black leather upholstery. The open construction of the frame provides the chair with a sleek and clear appearance. Laces are used to hold the leather together. A buckle is visible on the back of the chair which emphasizes the sturdy character of this chair.
Martin Visser (1922-2009) was a Dutch furniture designer and art-collector. The Kröller-Müller Museum accommodates over 400 works of Vissers' art-collection. His career as designer started at the department store De Bijenkorf. From 1955, Visser became head of production and design of ’t Spectrum. For this company Visser designed numerous items, including this chair.
