Marco Zanuso for Arflex Pair of 'Square' Sofas in Salmon Pink Corduroy

Marco Zanuso for Arflex, pair of 'Square' sofas, corduroy, coated steel, Italy, 1962

This distinctive Square sofa by Marco Zanuso is made for the Italian furniture company Arflex in 1962. Characteristic for this model are the low positioned armrests and backrest which, together with the thickness of the cushions, contribute to a sturdy and bulky appearance. The sofa is upholstered in a salmon pink colored corduroy, enhancing its soft and smooth look. The body rests on four black coated steel disc-shaped legs that give an elegant and light touch to the quite solid sofa.
