Maija Liisa Komulainen for RAAK Amsterdam, 'Fuga' wall light, copper colored anodised aluminium, The Netherlands, 1970s

The Fuga wall light is designed by Finnish architect and industrial designer Maija Liisa Komulainen. Produced by the the Dutch lighting company RAAK Amsterdam, a significant Dutch lighting manufacturer of the 20th century established in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn. The design consists of a cylindric shape executed in copper anodised aluminum, of which the form reminds of an organ. The lamp embraces an ingenious concept by concealing the light source, while transmitting an indirect, atmospheric light through the three openings
