Luigi Massoni Oval Rosewood Dining Table
Luigi Massoni, oval dining table, rosewood, Italy, circa 1950.
This oval table features a slim, sandhour shaped foot. The pattern in this table is created by placing several plain sawn pieces in a star form. Thanks to this nifty woodwork a layered expression is created that defines the aesthetics of this table. The foot is a touch warmer in color than the top, providing extra depth and elegance.
Luigi Massoni (1930) was a designer and architect yet he worked in other field too such as editing. Together with Carlo de Carli he founded 'Il Mobile Italiano', one of the first platforms that promoted Italian industrial design. Massoni has developed many household objects and pieces of furniture.
