Louis Kalff Attributed Floor Lamp in Colorful Metal and Brass
Floor lamp, in metal and brass, attributed to Louis Kalff, the Netherlands, 1950s.
Beautiful floor lamp attributed to Dutch architect and designer Louis Kalff. He is known for his designs for Philips. In the mid-1950s Kalff designed a series of lights for this company. Most likely this model also. It looks like a simple combination of lines, yet this light is highly detailed. The base consist of two bent blue-coated metal wires. The stern is made of brass and nicely curved. The wide shade is made of metal and coated in soft yellow. This light will create a large warm light-beam.
