Louis C. Kalff Red and Grey Floor Lamp for Philips
Louis C. Kalff for Philips, floor lamp model NX38, in metal, the Netherlands, 1957.
Modern tripod floorlamp by Dutch engineer and designer Louis Christiaan Kalff. This light has a simplistic design, yet highly functional. The frame is minimalistic and holds a large grey metal bowl shaped shade. The light gets reflected by a white Cascade shade, which leads into a bright red element. A functional and diffuse light is created by this excellent piece.
Louis Kalff is known for his graphical designs for Philips. In the mid-1950s he also designed a series of lights for this company. This floorlamp was one of them.
