Le Corbusier Perriand and Jeanneret Reupholstered LC2 in Leather for Cassina
Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, pair of LC2 lounge chairs, reupholstered in leather, metal, Italy, design 1928, year of production 1965.
Two armchairs with painted steel frame. The separate cushions are upholstered in a dark rose and light pink leather reupholstered in our own in-house upholstery studio. This modern, rationalist club chair is iconic and comfortable. The LC2 is a truly timeless model, which has made design history. During the 1920s many designers interpreted the English club chair as did Corbusier, Perriand and Jeanneret. The final design for the 'Fauteuil grand comfort' was most likely developed by Jeanneret who came up with the frame that functioned as a 'cushion basket'. Perriand then designed all the large and small models of the LC by which she formed a furniture family which met all the needs of seating, whether for conversation, half reclining, or fully reclining, according to the size of the spaces concerned and the requirements of furnishings.
