Large Set of Ton Chairs with Red Wooden Frames +75
Ton, +75 armchairs, lacquered beech and fabric, Czech Republic, 1960s.
A large set of dining chairs that are manufactured by Ton. These chairs feature a wonderful bentwood frame. Simplistic design and a more modest model of Ton and Thonet. The frame is dark red stained, which forms a striking combination with the purple checkered upholstery of the seat.
TON was founded after WWII in former Thonet factories and continued with the furniture making tradition set up by Thonet. In the 1960s, the TON company asked various architects to contribute in research and develop new design forms by using the renown technology of bentwood, leading to new, more contemporary designs.
Please note that the upholstery is aged and needs to be replaced. Ask one of our advisors for more information about the almost endless possibilities our in-house atelier has to offer.
