Paul Boberg, cabinet, wood and metal, by Sweden, 1930s.
Large decorative cabinet, in red and green. At the front this highboard is divided over two large doors and two drawers. All compartments can be locked. Once opened, a "shrine" compartment is centered with left and right several shelves for storage facility. Inside overall black painted to create a nice contract with the red and green-brass colored outside. All decorative elements are strong references to the Chinese decorative art.
Paul Boberg (1884-1947) was a Swedish architect and cabinetmaker working in Va¨xjo¨ and drew several buildings in this particular town in the southern part of Sweden. There are not much examples of furniture pieces by Paul Boberg which makes this item so desirable and unique.
