Joan Pou, armchairs, pine, leather, Spain, 1960s

This set of armchairs from Spain is strict, purist and belongs to the rationalist movement in Spain. The chairs feature an architectural frame, build up from only horizontal and vertical lines. These slats overlap each other at every crossing, which emphasizes the architectural constructions. Spanish designer Joan Pou made these chairs for a hotel in Spain. The seats are upholstered with thick saddle leather in cognac, which shows patina. The backrest is slightly tilted for extra comfort. Also the armrests are covered with this thick saddle leather.

Please note that we currently have six chairs in our collection.
