Jan Vlug Large Cocktail Table with Round Marble Top
Jan Vlug, cocktail table, wood, marble, travertine and brass, Belgium, 1970s. Exclusive coffee table with characteristic graphical base and round stone top. The base, made of dark lacquered wood, consists of six legs, formed into a star-shape. Two triangles combine into the hexagon frame. Each leg is also hexagonal and holds a decorative brass element on the bottom. The repeated rhythm of the legs is a trademark of Belgian designer Jan Vlug. The round top is composed of two different types of marble. A bright orange-red dot in the middle, surrounded by white colored stone with soft orange and rose veins. Four lines mark the middle of the circle and are another interesting graphical addition to this excellent cocktail table.
