Italian Wall Unit with Rosewood and Ceramic
Italian wall console, rosewood, glass and ceramic, Italy, 1950s.
In front of an organic shaped wall are three different elements adjusted. At the bottom offers a cabinet with glass doors and mirrored inside a convincing contrast to the horizontal shelf above. Here drawers with relief like doors are hidden. On top a closed cabinet with relief surface and two decorative ceramic tiles offers additional storage space. Nicely detailed with ridges rosewood, which emphasizes the verticality of the module. The cabinet seems to be inspired by the designs of Vittorio Dassi, Gio Ponti and Osvaldo Borsani.
