Italian Highboard in Rosewood by Stildomus Italy 1950s
High sideboard, in rosewood and solid brass handles, Italy, 1950s.
This exquisitely finished cabinet is executed in rosewood. The high board features architectural features in the sense that it is built up of various blocks that form a unified whole when seen together. Almost the whole of the interior and the back of this piece are finished with rosewood veneer too, making this a piece of high quality that can be used as a freestanding piece. The details such as the double rounded brass handles are a balanced touch to the otherwise complete rosewood piece. The legs are short and carved, giving this chest the need air. The piece is not only of a high quality and aesthetically pleasing, it is also functional as it contains three storage units, one folding door, two drawers and two doors with shelves. This cabinet has slight water stains on the top that cannot be removed.
