Italian Consoles with Grid Framework in Pine
Consoles, pine, tinted glass, Italy, 1970s
Italian pair of consoles executed in a natural pine wood, made in the 1970s. The framework is characterized by an open construction with evenly spaced square openings that add a graphic and structural surface to the unit. This pattern gained popularity among artists in the seventies, such as Gianfranco Frattini and Gae Aulenti, and, not to forget, the Italian esteemed cabinet maker Pierluigi Ghianda that was known for making pieces of furniture based on this layout. Above the grid pattern a smoked glass table top is placed.
Please note that the items are in good, used condition with visible signs of age and use. The framework contains scratches and dents. The glass exhibits scratches. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
