Cesare Augusto Nava for Nava, coffee table model 'Quadrifoglio', plastic, aluminum, wood, chrome, Italy, circa. 1969.
This rare Italian coffee table is very entertaining and whimsical. Quadrifoglio, meaning four-leaf clover in Italian, consists of a semicircular base and a top of four moving parts (hence the nickname) that exposes the internal light source and shines when opened. This design is very typical for the period it was designed and manufactured in, it shows in the materials used and the playfulness and shapes of this special piece. This model was presented at the “Salone Del Mobile” of Milan in 1969.
