Rare lounge chair designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara, made of beautiful supple leather accompanying a solid teak frame. The design was produced in 1957 by the artisan workshop "Esposizione Permanente Mobili - Palazzi dell'Arte" in Cantú Italy. This organic design features beautiful leather support strapping, which are an artwork in itself and also features full leather covers to the rear. The cushions are covered in their original grey velvet.

This design made its debut at the famous 1957 annual international ‘selettiva’ furnishing exhibition in 1957 in Cantu, Italy where it was entered in the living room category, ‘Secondo Concorso categoria Soggiorno alla Seconda Mostra Selettiva e Concorso Internazionale del Mobile’ Cantú , 14 - 29 September 1957 where it won the second of the gold medal prizes ‘Secondo Premio ex aequo’.
