Illum Wikkelsø Lounge Chair in Leather and Steel
Illum Wikkelsø by Mikael Laursen, armchair model ML 230, steel, Denmark, 1960s
This set is executed in with thick black leather and steel. The seat and back are smoothly upholstered and complement the steel frame wonderfully. The straight flat brushed steel legs stand flat on the side of this piece. This combination is both typical for Danish design as it is quintessential Modernist. The chair is comfortable and modest in its design and is finished at the back with the same thick leather meaning that it can be used as a freestanding piece.
The leather is in good overall condition but does show minor signs of age and use due to the age of this armchair.
