Ico Parisi for Angelo de Baggis, side tables or night stands model ‘360’, mahogany, glass, brass, Italy, designed in 1954
Ico Parisi designed the side tables model ‘360’ originally as telephone stands. He imagined the design to be practical for a telephone to be placed on the top glass shelf and a telephone book could lay on the bottom shelf. The design shows typical traits of Parisi’s designs. Proving his delicate taste and great eye for strong lines and proportions, he placed the table on two flat legs that end in a boomerang shaped foot. Looking from the side, the design has a sculpted look that makes these little side tables a true icon. The brass connections of the lower shelf and the connective slat, add a constructive detail to the design.
