Ib Kofod-Larsen, two lounge chairs with ottoman, model U-56 'Elizabeth', oak and red leather, Denmark, 1956.
These are two of Kofod-Larsen highest-quality armchairs, with an oak frame and beautiful details in the design. The seating holds beautiful original leather with authentic patina and is in exquisite condition with warm vibrant tones. The carved oak frame runs all the way from the pointy front via the legs to the rear. Upholstered in red leather, with a very comfortable loose cushion. Exceptional and hard to find a set of two iconic U-56 chairs. Produced by Christensen & Larsen in 1956 and since it was purchased by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during their visit to Copenhagen in 1958, it is called the “Elizabeth Chair.”
Please note that the leather shows stains and tears that are restored.
