Hvidt & Mølgaard-Nielsen for Søborg Set of Four Armchairs in Teak
Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for Søborg Møbelfabrik, set of four armchairs, model '317', teak, leather, Denmark, 1955.
Beautiful set of four armchairs designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen in 1955. These chairs have some typical Danish design characteristics, for example the outstanding attention to detail as seen in the beautiful curved backrest. Note the repetition of the rounded lines in the armrests. Horizontal stretchers are firmed between the legs, with a double diagonally placed stretcher on each side. For its frame, the finest teak is used which shows a beautiful grain pattern. A forest green leather is used to upholster these chairs.
Please note that the leather is in fair condition with signs of wear and use. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
