Hans Brattrud Set of Eight 'Scandia' Dining Chairs in Rosewood
Hans Brattrud for Hove Möbler, 8 dining chairs model 'Scandia' in rosewood and metal, Norway, circa 1957.
These chairs were part of the Scandia series, designed by Norwegian designer Hans Brattrud and produced by Hove Möbler. The chairs are executed in bent rosewood and steel. The seating consists of curved and bent slats of teak plywood. Through this combination, an elegant and modern chair in warm rosewood is created. These slatted chairs show an interesting 'hairpin' frame of bent metal. Combined by horizontal cross-connections to keep the slats in place and form. The warm colors of wood combine beautifully with the patinated metal frame.
