Guillerme and Chambron Credenza in Oak
Credenza 'Saint-Veran', in oak and ceramic, by Guillerme et Chambron for Votre Maison, France, 1960s.
Characteristic sideboard in solid oak. This cabinet holds the characteristics of the French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990). As many of the furniture designed by this duo this piece also shows a strong character and has a great expressive pattern on the doors. The legs are very sculptural which is another trademark of the design duo. The credenza has three doors and behind the doors and five shelves. The base has typical legs with cross-connections and provides a floating appearance to the storage part. Highly versatile item with plenty of storage space.
The French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) started their production in the postwar period. Many of the furniture designed by this duo this shows a strong character and has great expressive woodwork. The duo installed themselves in an old factory were the machinery was used to make rifles. Guillerme & Chambron saw the potential of these machinery and decided to continue production as it was installed and used them for the design of their high back chairs. The line of different furniture pieces was made in small editions. They call their collection “Votre Maison” which means “Your home.”.
