Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, showcase unit, walnut, glass Italy, 1988

This exceptional grand showcase by Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi is a testament to his exquisite woodworking skills. Its monumental character is attributed to its sheer size and peculiar form. The arched shaped vitrine features a remarkable round contour meticulously finished along the sides. The transparency of the glass allows for showcasing one's glassware and art objects in a graceful way. The lower part is composed of a distinct compartment adorned with square cutouts, creating a captivating rhythmic and tactile surface. Crafted from high-quality walnut wood, the main structure is expertly assembled using intricate wood joinery techniques. This choice of material not only accentuates the natural beauty of the piece but also imbues a warm, inviting ambiance into any room. Rivadossi's discerning eye for materialization and technical precision is fully showcased in this sideboard, highlighting his mastery in creating timeless and beautiful furniture.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
