Giuseppe Pagano and Gino Levi Montalcini Buxus Desk
Giuseppe Pagano and Gino Levi Montalcini for F.I.P. Torino, lacquered wood, buxus paper, brass, Italy, 1929. This desk is designed by Pagano and Montalcini for Palazzo degli Uffici Gualino. This golden brown desk on a black base is part of a commissioned project for the Gualino offices in Turin. The desk is interesting not only for its provenance but for the use of material too, as the desk has been covered with buxus paper. A material that was new in that time. The desk has four drawers oh which two are lockable and a storage space on the left, creating an asymmetrical design. Striking visual details are the black wooden handles.
