Sale price$5,450.00

Tapio Wirkkala for Asko, set of six dining chairs, plywood, nickel-plated steel, Finland, 1950s

Beautiful set of 'Nikke' chairs design by the Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala. This model is a wonderful example of an early minimalist design. The chair consists of a black lacquered plywood seat, organically shaped. The frame features nickel-plated tubular steel legs that are slim and straight.

Please note we have a large amount of these chairs in our collection, which makes this an ideal set for a project. Please note that the chairs differ in condition from very good to signs of wear and use, mainly at the seat. Some chairs are missing some lacquer on the edges.

Measurements of the chairs: H 82 x W 49 x D 49 cm (seat height: 44 cm).

Giotto Stoppino for Bernini, 'Mayan' dining table, walnut and chrome-plated steel, Italy, 1960s

Round dining table by Giotto Stoppino. The walnut tabletop shows a warm, honey colored grain. The top is supported by a four-part chromed base that consists of a curved tubular frame which forms a rounded foot. It has a certain lightness thanks to its subtle sinuous lines. Stoppino was inspired by the Italian Neo-Liberty style, balancing historical elements with contemporary technology and forms.
